Display Furniture

One of the joys of selling furniture and homewares is the option to arrange and rearrange it as stock shifts. The truth is that very few potential customers will be interested in purchasing a piece of furniture if it is not clearly displayed for optimal form and function. Piling furniture on top of each other like it is in a stock room is not visually appealing and makes it hard for people to peruse the options. One of the best ways to sell furniture is by collecting it in different room-like sections throughout the space. Wholesale furniture can be displayed as a sitting area, faux bedroom, window display, stage or retail environment. Just remember to dust thoroughly at least once per week.

Sitting Areas

Sitting areas let people give potential pieces of seating a test run before they make their decision. In a retail environment this is often convenient as a resting place for tired shoppers. At other times it gives them a chance to look through any available reading material in a comfortable setting. To make a sitting area with wholesale furniture is very similar to making one in the home. Sometimes it is easier because there tend to be more options and therefore a wider range of choices.  All that you need is a handful of chairs or a sofa along with some accent tables and perhaps a lamp or other decorative items.

Faux Bedroom

The faux bedroom as we are calling it is often seen in department stores where someone has gone to the trouble of making up a bed in the middle of the store. Generally bedroom furniture is like any other kind of merchandise in that it looks best in action. When a bed is set up with an attractive comforter, piles of cushions and two bedside tables it is more aesthetically appealing. This look can be taken even further by creating a complete bedroom set with a dresser or wardrobe cabinet, table lamps, and a large mirror. If it looks good enough you may have to watch out for people trying to take naps in the shop.

Window Display

Retailers have been using window displays to sell goods and furnishings since before the invention of electricity. People walking by in the street are almost always going to judge a shop by what they see in its window. If the window of a store is poorly constructed or just filled with a lot of dusty nonsense then it will affect sales negatively. To create the impression of a department store or upscale boutique it is fairly simple to arrange wholesale furniture in front of a window. These displays should be regularly rotated according to the season or to emphasize a particular item that is on sale.

Stages or Scenery

Since stages, or scenery on a stage, usually involve furniture it is not that far of a leap to make up a scene in the store. With imagination and the right kind of wholesale furniture you can literally set the stage. When designing a set consider the environment that you wish to create carefully. It is possible to create a feeling inspired by any look whether it takes place in a turn of the century parlor or a farmhouse that has slowly fallen into disrepair after years of isolation and neglect. This may be more relevant during special occasions like Halloween unless you are a producer.

Retail Environments

Retail environments are different from living quarters or office spaces because they are used for shopping. If everything is brand new then it is not necessarily required or even desirable to unwrap everything and start using it. If this is the case then it is still a good idea to organize the furniture that is for sale somehow. Furnishings tend to be rather large so it is not usually practical to stock it on a shelf unless it is in a giant warehouse. However it is still possible to line it up nicely in rows so that everything is easily accessible yet well displayed.
